Parkinsoni Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia parkinsoni)

An active fish native to the rivers of Papua New Guinea and northern Australia, the Parkinsoni Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia parkinsoni) is a somewhat rare fish to come by in the hobby. They are known to be energetic yet peaceful schooling fish, making them suitable tankmates for freshwater community tanks. Mature Parkinson’s Rainbows are known for their orange bodies with males displaying more intense coloration than females. Like all Rainbowfish, they are best kept in schools of 5 or more.
