Description Gracial 22Tab is a combined oral contraceptive pill (COCP) used by women to prevent pregnancy. It contains two synthetic hormones: desogestrel (a progestogen) and ethinylestradiol (an estrogen). These hormones work together to prevent ovulation (the release of an egg from the ovary), thicken the cervical mucus (making it difficult for sperm to reach the egg), and alter the lining of the uterus (making it less likely for a fertilized egg to implant). Each pack of Gracial contains 22 tablets. These are typically taken once daily for 22 consecutive days, followed by a 6-day hormone-free interval during which a withdrawal bleed (similar to a menstrual period) usually occurs. It is crucial to take the tablets regularly and as directed to ensure maximum effectiveness in preventing pregnancy. Gracial is indicated for: Contraception (prevention of pregnancy). Important Information: Gracial is a prescription medication and should be taken exactly as directed by your doctor. Before starting Gracial, your doctor will review your medical history to ensure it is safe for you to use. There are certain conditions that may make combined oral contraceptives unsuitable. Be aware of potential side effects, which can include nausea, headache, breast tenderness, mood changes, and weight changes. More serious but rare side effects, such as blood clots, can also occur. Smoking significantly increases the risk of serious cardiovascular side effects from combined oral contraceptives, especially in women over 35 years of age.
